Laundry can be a daunting task. It’s not that it’s hard. It’s just time consuming. There is that whole back and forth thing. Of course, it’s a lot easier if you don’t have to worry about stains. Sometimes stains aren’t a big deal around this house. Other times, stains come out of the woodwork. I swear there are days when I don’t know where people get the things they do on their clothes. Luckily, it’s easier to get things out than it used to be. It’s a rare occurrence when something needs to be thrown out because of a stain.

The video below is a look at those old Wisk commercials. Ring around the collar used to be a dreaded phrase. I remember hearing it more than once in my childhood. Growing up, my mom never received much trouble from me in the stain category (I was a bit of a bookworm), but my brother was a different story. He was a football player and he loved sports. So, he spent a lot of time getting dirty.
I recall the horror in my mom’s eyes when he came home one day after seeing a concert (front row no less) with fake blood sprayed all over his Detroit Lions jacket (Beverly Hills Cop was all the rage at that point). I never remember my mom finding a stain that she couldn’t tackle, but this one was particularly fierce. The fake blood seeped into the fibers of the jacket and they just didn’t want to let go.

She washed it three times, but the thing that finally got it out was her taking Wisk, putting it on a toothbrush and scrubbing it by hand. It got the job done, but the entire process was a lot harder and more time consuming than it would be today.
Not everyone was so lucky though. I knew plenty of parents that didn’t have that kind of luck with stains. Years after that stain crisis, I was babysitting for a friend of my aunt. It was around Halloween and when the kids came home for school they changed into play clothes. The boy I was watching decided to change into his all-white Karate uniform and before I knew it he had huge grass stains all over it! Unfortunately, the mom wasn’t much of a stain fighter (and soap wasn’t what it is now) so she ended up having to throw the uniform away!
If Wisk’s new Stain Technology had been around back then the uniform could have been saved. Unfortunately, lots of clothes have been lost due to things like red wine, chocolate, and grass. The good new is though that as of this month, those days will be gone! Wisk’s new stain technology is called Spectrum Technology and it’s geared to change the way that the average laundry aficionado sees stains. Wisk understands that not all stains are the same. Most people have known that for years, but not all laundry soaps have caught up to that fact just yet. That’s why Wisk breaks it down with a little stain vocabulary:
Most stains fall into 3 main categories
Carbohydrates such as milk chocolate
Proteins such as grass
Oils such as peanut butter
All other stains fall into stain groups like the following
Bio such as blood
Bleachable such as coffee
Particulate such as dirt
Synthetic such as ink
This is my first Wisk post of four over the next few months. Keep your eyes peeled for upcoming reviews of the new stain technology red bottle of Wisk and some other fun things. In the meantime make sure to visit Wisk on Facebook and the Wisk Website to download a coupon for Wisk and learn more about their Stain Technology!
The All-New Wisk will be available in August at most major retailers including Walmart, Target and Kroger for a suggested retail price of $5.99 per 50 oz bottle (32 Loads).
Note: This post was compensated as part of the Wisk Campaign with One2One Network. I was paid to write this post, however the information, details, and thoughts are completely my own and were not purchased.
