Good Karmal is a brilliant name for a company that makes caramels wrapped in positive, wise words from brilliant people. However, it’s not the marketing strategy or the branding that will keep you coming back to Good Karmal. The thing that will keep you coming back is the taste. These are hands down the best caramels that I have ever had.
Good Karmal approached us for inclusion in our Father’s Day Gift Guide. I loved the idea of a sweet father’s day gift addition to the guide, so we had them send some over. I had no idea when I agreed to try them that I would love them as much as I did. These are fabulous any time of year. Take my advice and forget the idea of just sending them for the holidays. Spoil yourself whenever you can and buy a box to share with good friends.

We received the Crate O’ Karmal to test out. The crate we received (there are two available) was the one that has multiple flavors. They have another crate which just includes the Vanilla caramels they offer. The multi-flavor crate includes Vanilla, Sea Salt, Espresso, Black Raspberry, Green Apple, Chocolate Sea Salt, and Chipotle.
I tried the flavors that I knew I would like first. The vanilla was absolutely divine. It pulls apart like soft taffy (if you are so inclined to pull it, which I was) and biting into it allows you to taste instant flavors bursting in your mouth. The caramel is soft enough to melt in your mouth should you choose to and if you wish to savor the taste that long. If you can’t wait, you will notice a soft, smooth texture unlike some caramels that border on chewy and/or tough.
While vanilla is always a good standby for me, I found that my favorite flavors were green apple and chocolate sea salt. I was surprised that I liked the chocolate so much because I wasn’t expecting to love the mix of sweet and salty, but I really enjoyed it. The other flavors were delicious, too. I think my least favorite was the Chipotle. If you love hot candies you should enjoy it more than I did. The heat creeps up on you. I found it to be barely noticeable at first and then it just explodes in your mouth after a bite or two.
The Crate O’ Karmal is available via the Good Karmal website for the cost of $40. According to the website, you should eat the caramels within one month of receiving them. I think they just write this as a just in case, because I cannot imagine anyone having them sitting around longer than that. If you love sweets and decadent desserts you have to check out Good Karmal. The only thing better than the messages offered with each caramel, is the caramels themselves.

I love carmel, so I am sure these would tickle my taste buds too! Now, I’ll be craving them!
OMG!!! These look and sound SO GOOD! I love caramels. My great-grandmother used to give them to me when I was a little girl.
I love how each one has words of inspiration. That’s a fun idea.
I can’t believe they tell you to eat them within a month? Ha! They wouldn’t last a week in my home.
Now that my mouth is drooling I need to visit their site.
Thanks for the great review!
