Before even beginning this review I have to say that Dove is smarter at marketing than I thought. In an age where Glee is one of the most popular and iconic shows on television, Dove has made the decision to partner with them in marketing efforts. Lea Michelle (otherwise known as Rachel Barry) has appeared in various videos talking about her character on the show and what being on the show has done to her hair. To give you an idea, Michelle has naturally curly hair so she has to blow dry it, straighten it with a flat iron, then curl it. This doesn’t include the addition of extensions that she has to put up with. In short, it’s a lot of work on her hair. According to Michelle, Dove makes things more manageable.
I’m not one to listen to commercials, but I will say that Dove has impressed me. They recently sent over some of their new line of conditioners. I received some of the daily treatment for everyday wear and tear and some that handles severe damage. I wanted to work with Dove, but I wasn’t sure if I wanted to on this particular campaign because I normally do not use conditioner. I find that it makes my hair greasy and unflattering. Even when I use the small amount that most companies suggest, it still makes my hair feel awful. Needless to say, this little fact made me initially hesitate at the thought of working with Dove.
Luckily, I have learned that Dove Conditioners might just be the one conditioner that I can tolerate. I have been using it for a couple of weeks now and my hair feels great when I use it. I have noticed a huge difference when I don’t. I use the everyday conditioner nearly every day and the severe damage about once a week. The only time I noticed a problem using it was when I put too much (I didn’t read the directions like I should have) and it gave me that unflattering feeling. It was completely different when I used the right amount.
My hair offers a noticeable shine when I use Dove and the great thing is that it started really soon after using it. It may sound cliché, but I did notice a difference right away. I also noticed differences when I stopped using it briefly. A couple days without it and my hair just did not feel as lively or as clean.
You can pick up these Dove Daily Treatment Conditioners just about everywhere that hair care products are sold. Depending on where you get them you should find them for under $5 per bottle. Of course, this could last the average family for a month (depending on the size of the family) so it’s not a bad deal. I highly recommend checking out Dove if you have problem hair or are just in need of a change in conditioner.
