Holiday Gift Review: Adam & Alix Handbags

During the holidays hundreds of potential gifts pass my desk. Many of them are things that I know I won’t miss once they are gone. Some sound good in theory, but soon make me wish I had never heard of them. Others, on the other hand, just seem to fit. Adam & Alix is one of those things that just fit. As far as a designer line goes, I had never heard of them. In fact, when I received the bag for review that I was sent I didn’t even know it was coming. It was packed with some other products and when I opened the box, there it was.

I decided to give it to my mom because no one needs extra purses like my mom. She could store a country in her purse, I think. She’s constantly complaining about every purse that she receives, too. I figured if I let her try this one and it passed the test then I would know for sure that Adam & Alix bags were worth it. So, mom went through the tedious female torture that revolves around cleaning out her purse and trying a new one on for size. The verdict is that Adam & Alix aren’t so bad.

She loved the size and she felt the design was fun too. The bag that we received was one of the blue/green leather with a knot. On the website you can check out the other Adam & Alix designs. They offer numerous options from fun and sassy to retro and chic. Chances are you’re going to find something you like. In the beginning I wasn’t sure I loved the one that we received, but all that mattered was that mom liked it. However, I admit that it’s grown on me. Still, when I buy my own Adam & Alix I will probably go with something a little on the formal/classier side for myself.

The major pros to these handbags are that they are inexpensive (well under $50) and they are as small or as large as you need them to be for your own personal situation. The one we received was huge, but the website offers many other small options including clutch purses and standard bags on chains. The bags come in a variety of colors to please even the pickiest shopper.

Adam & Alix was one of the most pleasant surprises of my holiday review season. While I knew absolutely nothing of them prior to picking up the purse that was sent to us, I will be sure to keep an eye on them from now on. I highly recommend checking them out if you’re looking for a gift for the fashion-conscious girl on your list.
