Product Review: SinuCleanse Kids Mist

September 19, 2009 No Comments »

When the season’s change our house is a virtual Kleenex factory! Michigan is just one of those places where it goes from beautiful to drab in an instant. When the weather changes like that it’s easy to get sick and it happens a lot! It’s always issues with colds and sinuses when the weather is to blame, though that doesn’t make your body feeling any better knowing who caused the trouble! While it’s horrible for us adults to deal with these issues, it’s even worse for the kids.

More often than not, we will tough it out with over the counter sinus medicines, tissues, and cough drops. The kids don’t always have it that easy though and their little bodies often end up being far more worn out than ours do. That’s why I was thrilled to give the SinuCleanse Kids Mist system a try. We received this for review a month or so ago and I will admit that I waited to try the review until I knew it was going to come in handy the most. I figured I could have tried it when the weather was nice, but no one was having any issues, so we wouldn’t have been able to get a good reading as to how well it worked. I am glad we waited to try it out because there would have been no way of knowing the benefits for this review.

Along with the Kids Mist system, the nice PR folks that sent it over, also sent a Netipot, which is for adult use. I will admit that I have yet to try that out. The entire system just appears frightening to me, so I have avoided it. I have heard that they work excellently though and so I do plan to give it a whirl soon. Until then, we have focused on the little ones and the Kids Mist system.

Kids Mist comes in a small bottle. You put the saline solution in the bottle and spray the mist near the child’s nose to help clear their sinuses and remove the gunk that is causing them problems. Some of the benefits to Kids Mist include the fact that it’s All Natural and there are no preservatives in the product. You don’t have to worry about any hassles because the solution is pre-measured so it allows for a precise dose to be administered each time you have to mix things up.

According to the Kids Mist page on the SinuCleanse website, Kids Mists will help with the following:

  • Nasal Discomfort
  • Allergy Symptoms caused by Dust, Fumes, Animal Dander, Pollen, Smoke
  • Cough, Cold, and Flu Symptoms
  • Children’s Sinus Discomfort, Runny Nose, Congestion, Dry Air
  • Sinus Infections

Using the Nasal Saline Spray throughout the day will help your child by allowing the nasal mucus to thin out, which will make it easier to breathe. Each child should have their own bottle of Kids Mist because it’s easier to pass things back and forth, assuming that more than one child were using the same unit. The anti-backwash valve does stop germs from the nose from infecting the bottle, but just to be certain it’s best to limit the use to one person per bottle.

Using the Mist does not hurt. In fact, we found that our son claims it tickles. He didn’t complain about it at all. At first we didn’t notice much of a change in him after using the Kids Mist. However, after a few times he had increased energy and didn’t seem to be complaining about allergies as much. He didn’t feel as stuffy and his eyes were not giving him as many problems.

It seems that Kids Mist works as good (or better) as the alternatives and it’s definitely a lot safer. I would rather have my child using something all natural that is not harmful in any way, as opposed to the standard over the counter medicine that may or may not work, depending on the day or the illness. That being said, I think we will be using Kids Mist more in the future!

Kids Mist is available at a variety of stores including Kroger, CVS, and GNC. If you cannot find it in your local area, Amazon.com also carries it or you can buy it direct through the SinuCleanse website. On the website, the Kids Mist bottle with three weeks worth of solution will cost you $14.99 plus shipping. If you have results as good as we do, I am sure that you will see that it’s well worth the cost.
