Home Care Products Review: Purex Laundry 3-in-1 Sheets

June 3, 2009 1 Comment »

In our house, laundry is one of the most time consuming processes each week. It’s, in large part, due to the fact that we have a lot of laundry to do. Between four adults and two kids, the washer and dryer in this house gets a heck of a workout. Another thing that gets a workout is our pocketbook from buying laundry detergent, softener sheets, and other laundry products. So when I was offered the chance to review the new Purex 3-in-1 Laundry Sheets I couldn’t wait to test them out.

Purex 3-in-1 laundry sheets are set to simplify the task of doing your laundry while saving you plenty of pennies to spend on more important things. Each 3-in-1 sheet contains laundry detergent, softener, and an anti-static agent. Each sheet includes all three ingredients in one simple sheet. You just toss one of the sheets into the washer and when it’s time to transfer the load to the dryer you toss it in with the load.

The blue portion of the sheet is the detergent. After the rinse cycle, the sheet is placed into the dryer. While in the dryer the heat activates the laundry sheet and the softener and anti-static are released. This is about as quick and easy as you can get. No more fussing with liquids or powders. No more worrying about remembering to put the dryer sheets in. Most importantly, you will not have to pay for two items when you can get three for one price.

Like most laundry detergents you get your choice of scent when you purchase these Purex Laundry Sheets. The three scents that are currently available are Spring Oasis, Tropical Escape, and Pure and Clean. I tend to lean towards the rain scents, but when the detergent I use is not available, I find myself choosing the clean scents. That being said, these were right up my alley. They smelled great before I used them, and my clothes smelled wonderful, afterwards. Purex 3-in-1 Laundry Sheets are the perfect solution to the quick and inexpensive load of laundry.

Knowing that the clothes were as clean, if not cleaner was the most important thing to me. The next thing I worried about was the price. It generally seems that if things are too good to be true then they probably are. Unless you’re buying unbranded soap you should find these comparable (and even less expensive) than the cost of detergent and fabric softener.

You should be able to find the Purex 3-in-1 Laundry Sheets in just about any grocery or discount store. The suggested retail pricing is $6.49 for a starter kit, which include 20 sheets (one per load), a sheet dispenser, and a 24 sheet refill pack. That’s 44 loads of laundry and a dispenser for under $7. That’s not bad at all.

After using these for a week, I can honestly say that I do not want to go back to the liquid soap and dryer sheets. The Purex sheets are quick, easy, and inexpensive, making them the perfect choice for me and my family. I highly recommend you check these out. With the money and time you save you can enjoy a few minutes alone with a good book or buy yourself something nice with the money you save.

These do not work well. Someone had a great idea but it needs improvement. I had to use two of them to get my clothes clean and then I noticed the washer washed out most of the green strip but I went ahead and put it in the dryer, Let’s just say taking my whites out of the dryer was a SHOCKING experience due to the fact that Purex’s new product does NOT stop static electricity.
