Lil B loves pirates. His favorite pirate is Captain Jack Sparrow. Anything on television that is pirate based he wants. It doesn’t matter if it’s Legos, Castles, or movies…pirates are everything in this house, until he grows out of it. That being said, we’ve been with this phase for over a year now and he is still in love with his pirates.
Even his room is all done up with a pirates theme. We got him a Pirates of the Caribbean lamp and some matching bedding. He has pirate posters on the walls and more than one treasure chest holding toys, money, and other worldly possessions. It’s safe to say that Lil B is the king of pirates gear.
One thing he didn’t have was a Plundering Pirates Pillaroo Pillow. Pillaroo Pillows are soft, day style pillows that open up via zipper and have fun little toys in them that go with the theme of the pillow. In the case of Lil B’s pirate pillow, he opened it up to find a selection of pirate action figures.
He was so excited that he promptly handed over some pirates and demanded that we duel. Before he went home later that day, he made sure to collect all his pirates and store them back inside his pillow, so that he wouldn’t lose them. The pillow now sits on his bed, when he’s not carrying it around or using it to lounge around the house.
Pillaroo offers about twenty different styles of pillows for less than $35 for each pillow. While that might seem like a lot of money, seeing the joy on Lil B’s face (and seeing how much use he has gotten out of it) has made it well worth the purchase (well, it would have had it not been given to me for review).
I had no problem picking out the Pirate Pillaroo for Lil B, but there are a number of other cute Pillaroos available if your child isn’t a pirates fan. Boys that love sports will love the Sports Superstar pillow. Fans of sweets and baking will adore the Cupcake Caravan. The Pilloroo site also offers pillows with puppies, cowboys, and kittens amongst other things.
The only thing I think would be a great addition that I didn’t see is a Princess pillow. There is one with polka dots on it labeled the Polka Dot Princess, but it comes with a teddy bear. I was thinking something along the lines of fairy princesses, which would be a huge hit with a lot of budding princesses I know.
Lil B loves his Pillaroo and that’s all there is to it. I have no doubt that I will be buying these as gifts for my friend’s children for birthdays and holidays. These make a great addition to your child’s room and depending on the theme you should have no problem finding something to match. Of all the recent reviews that we have done, this was one of the things that Lil B has continually went back to. While it’s not his blankie, it’s definitely a close second.
You can purchase Pillaroo pillows in some stores in California, but if you’re not in California you can zip over to the Pillaroo website to find one of the many stores where you can purchase these great pillows on the Internet.
As if you couldn’t tell, I highly recommend picking up some Pillaroo Pillows for your favorite munchkins as soon as possible.
