Food Review: Hank’s Gourmet Infusions

We were recently sent some of Hank’s Gourmet Infusions, a healthy alternative to soda pop. Labeled as “All Natural Sparkling Beverages” you lose that sense of guilt that comes with drinking a Coke, but you still get plenty of flavor and some sweetness that doesn’t accompany the healthiest of beverages.
On the surface, Hank’s looks like your average soda can save for the fact that it is a little bit taller instead of wider. The design of the can is simple with the color and artwork matching that of the flavor you will soon be enjoying. The Green Apple beverage comes in a can and is designed with green apples on the cover. Likewise, Orange Cream is orange with oranges and Berry is reddish-purple and comes with berries on the cover.
From the moment I opened these I had a slight idea of what to expect. I was told that the Apple and Berry flavors resemble what you might taste when sucking on a Jolly Rancher. The Orange Cream tastes like the age old favorite sodas by the same name. When I explained this to my fellow reviewers they were more than willing to pop a top and see what they tasted like.
First up was the Green Apple beverage. I popped the top and wouldn’t you know, it exploded all over me! Moral of the story is if you’re having these shipped you might want to give it time to calm down before you pop it open to have a taste. Once I cleaned up we poured the Green Apple in a glass and all sat down to try it out.
Dominick was first up and he really loved the flavor. He agreed, as did I, that the drink tastes exactly like Green Apple Jolly Ranchers. There is enough carbonation to qualify as a Sparkling beverage, but I wouldn’t consider it to be anywhere near a soda pop. Of course, not being able to compare the two could be a good thing for Hank’s.
Each drink contains plenty of things that will benefit the child or adult enjoying the drink. Hank’s Infusions contain natural Vitamins C, E, and B12, Calcium, Skim Milk and Cream, and Antioxidants found in Green Tea. They do not contain caffeine, synthetic vitamins, artificial colors or flavors, or preservatives. Hank’s is also a low sodium product.
I admit that I am not a very health conscious person when it comes to eating the right way. I love pop and I love food that I know is bad for me. So, one of the biggest things that I struggle with is finding something I can drink that I like. I love juice and I can stomach water, but I often tire of drinking just these things which leads me back to the carbonated beverages that I love so much. With Hank’s I get the best of both worlds. I get one of the healthiest, good-tasting drinks around and I get the carbonation that comes with the drinks I generally prefer.
Of the three we tried Orange Cream was definitely my personal favorite. I have always been a fan of the Stewart’s brand of Orange Cream, but this tasted as good if not better. If I attempt to compare it to pop then I feel it doesn’t have enough carbonation to suit my needs. However, as a sparkling beverage it is delicious.
If you’re looking for something tasty and healthy to give your children I definitely recommend Hank’s Gourmet Infusions. Not only can you purchase them in the three flavors that I have mentioned you can also pick them up in flavors such as Vanilla Cream, Root Beer, Diet Root Beer, Birch Beer, and Black Cherry. You can learn more about Hank’s Infusions and they can be purchased through the Hank’s website.
