Discovery Kids’ READY SET LEARN! Hosts Block of Fun-Filled Halloween-Themed Programming for Preschoolers

Celebrate “Funny Dress-Up Night with Wilbur and His Barnyard Friends

New York (Sept. 17) – Come October, parents looking for some fun, scare-free Halloween-themed viewing for their preschoolers need look no further than READY SET LEARN!, Discovery Kid’s preschool programming block, which is hosting a fun-filled day of programming featuring many of the channel’s most beloved characters in not-so-scary Halloween stories.

READY SET LEARN! promotes optimism, persistence and resilience – attributes every preschooler needs to get started on a lifelong journey of learning. Combining loveable characters, colorful animation and humorous storylines with beneficial educational content, READY SET LEARN! helps children develop skills and cognitive abilities that will last a lifetime.

During the special Halloween-themed block on Discovery Kids Channel’s READY SET LEARN!, October 29 from 9 am – 2 pm (ET) and repeated on TLC October 31 from 6 am-9 am (ET/PT), young trick-or-treaters will have a blast watching WILBUR, PAZ, PEEP AND THE BIG WIDE WORLD, HIP HOP HARRY, TODDWORLD, BIGFOOT PRESENTS: METEOR AND THE MIGHTY MONSTER TRUCKS, and the rest of the READY SET LEARN! gang scare up laughter and good times at costume parties, sleepovers, spooky mansions and looking for things that go bump in the night:

WILBUR – “Funny Dress-Up Night”
The love-of-reading-and books show is hosting a costume party of its own. Hilarious costumes abound, but Wilbur’s friend Dasha hasn’t found one yet and the party is about to start! Wilbur reads a story that helps Dasha learn that using your imagination can sometimes be the trick (or treat) that solves the problem!

PEEP AND THE BIG WIDE WORLD
The Emmy-winning series, which teaches science to youngsters through humor and charm, examines a new kind of trap: sticky, webby things! Join Peep, Quack and the rest of the gang on a mysterious hide-and-seek adventure.

HIP HOP HARRY
The musically-based dance and live-action program hosts a costume party at Hip Hop
Central. Come along as Harry and the gang make a list of all the party things they need, search for costumes (and make a few of their own!) and have a hopping good time!

BIGFOOT PRESENTS: METEOR AND THE MIGHTY MONSTER TRUCKS
Crashing and smashing their way through the obstacles of growing up, this energetic episode has Zooey learning that some scary things aren’t really scary at all when Bigfoot
takes his family on a “Fright Busters” tour around Crushington Park.

TODDWORLD
In TODDWORLD, it’s our differences that make us truly special and acceptance is key! When Stella invites Julian to her costume-sleepover party, Pickle admits that he’s afraid he might catch whatever it is that Julian has and end up in a wheelchair too. In a second story, Barry the Bully is looking for Todd and everyone (except Todd) can only assume that he’s up to no good.

THE MAGIC SCHOOL BUS
Join Ms. Frizzle and the class on another adventure in science! The class is thrilled about its upcoming concert at the Sound Museum — until they discover the spooky mansion is more of a thrill than they bargained for. Featuring Carol Channing as Cornelia C. Contralto.

READY SET LEARN!’s host Paz the Penguin, who entertains in-between shows, even joins in on the fun with mini-adventures of his own at a Halloween party, a sleepover, an encounter with spiders and dealing with a bad dream.
