It’s a bright and shining morning and an egg is ready to hatch. As the sun shines on the egg it hatches and then we are asked who the chick belongs to through text in the book.
Whose Chick Are You?, is a vivid and easy to read and understand book for small children. Similar to the books that ask about mommies and daddies, this book questions where this chick belongs. The goose, duck, hen, and bird all look to the chick with a questioning nature, but none of them know who truly laid the egg.
It does not take long, just a page or two really, to find out that the new baby belongs with a beautiful swan. The pictures are all very realistic and will be eye catching to a child. The realism will make it easy for children to understand the setting though they shouldn’t have a huge problem with this.
This book will allow them to ask questions about the world, as well. This is particularly true if they are not familiar with a specific type of animal that is listed in the book.
As this is a hardcover book it will hold up well in any child’s library. Suited best for newborn to around five years old this is an excellent book for story time naps or for education.
After all, by the end of the book your child will be aware of hens, ducks, geese, and birds. They will also know just what sounds they make. Whose Chick Are You? will make an adorable addition to your child’s book shelf.
Bottom Line: Whose Chhick are You? is cute, heartwarming, and worth taking the time to watch your child experience some new animals and environments for the first time. If your child is under five years old and likes animals, especially little chickies, you will want to offer them this wonderful book.
